A.C. Davis Competition
Hawk Tawk kicked off
the year in great style in competition at A.C. Davis High School in Yakima on Saturday, November 4. Due to conflicts with other school
events, only seven returning team members and two novices were able to compete.
Two other novices came to observe.
Despite
the small numbers, Chiawana was dominant in speech events, taking the first
place sweepstakes trophy in that category, as well as first place for small
(fewer than 10 competitors) team. We also swept the category in Open Tall
Tales. You know you’ve “arrived” when the other teams complain about your team
getting all the trophies.
